The parents of schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State have vowed to go into the Sambisa forest in order to search for their daughters no matter the consequences. one of the parents, Mallam Bitrus Audu, Aged 49, said, said, "we want the government to do everything within its reach to track down these evil people''. He added : "Dont let our daughters' vision be aborted by wicked and heartless people". Meanwhile, the principal of GGSS, Asabe Kwambura, has appealed to the insurgents to 'have mercy on the innocent girls". The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, visited the location of the school on Monday, promising that the state government would do its utmost to rescue the abducted girls. the lack of information about the whereabouts of the abducted students has continued to raise questions in Nigeria as well as in the international media.
