Nigeria’s Immigration Service has recently grabbed
no fewer than 107 illegal immigrants inside, and along the Nigerian
border to the north. Among the scores of immigrants detained, 12 were
women. The arrest and detention of the illegal border crossers by the
Nigeria Immigration Service occurred in Borno State yesterday.
Mr. Modu Musa, the Nigerian Immigration Service Comptroller in
Borno/Yobe, made this surprising announcement publicly to newsmen at a
press briefing in Maiduguri today.
He said, we made this large arrest of the illegal immigrants during our normal daily routine, and not in a planned sweep.
